Q: "What does the membership include?"

A: Let's see...

  • Exclusive content and articles, with new stuff updated and added each month...
  • Exclusive member's only webinars, where I'll deal with exactly the topics our members have requested that I cover. Anything I am not an expert on, I'll bring in an expert to discuss it....
  • An extensive section of downloads, including documents and forms (new stuff is being added all the time), ads and marketing materials (new stuff added quarterly), drills and games, and more...
  • Audio and video lessons, that you can go online and watch anytime you like...
  • Discounts on products and services - the same ones I use in my own school...
  • Special "first-look" access to money-making programs for your school...
  • And a set of Ginsu knives (just kidding).

Now, it's only fair to tell you, I am working on adding fresh new content to the member's area during at least one week out of each month - and that's going to be an ongoing thing from here on out. So, if you get in there and don't see new material for the month, be patient... it's coming shortly.

Q: "What's it cost?"

A: $17.95 a month.

Q: "Is there a contract?"

A: Nope.

Q: "Mike, isn't this just another "me too" membership program for school owners?"

A: Nope. It's more like a "not me" membership program.

To my knowledge, I was the first guy among this generation of instructors to stand up and say, "Hey, you don't need to have a big school, you don't need 300+ students, and you don't need a billing company sticking their hands in your pockets."

The core of what I teach goes directly against the mainstream. If that's "me too", then someone wake me up, because I must have been dreaming for the last five years.

Q: "Mike, who is this program geared toward?"

A: I'd say, if you want to make a good living and still have a life outside your dojo, this is the program for you.

I'd like to add that this site is all about servicing an under-served group of people in our industry - small and struggling school owners. The focus of this membership is on instructors who are just starting schools, as well as small school owners. Period.

That's ALWAYS been my focus, and it's the only one I'm interested in dealing with.

Q: "How is this different from joining one of those big associations?"

A: The difference is simple... but first, let me say that I am NOT competing with those guys. Their goal is to get as many school owners on their programs as possible, and I think that's great.

My goal, however, is to build a tight-knit community of instructors who are interested in learning how to run small, highly successful schools, and who are all about sharing ideas and supporting each other... Which is why I'm capping the membership at 500 members.

I know that sounds like a lot, but it's not - it's a drop in the bucket compared to an industry association's huge membership. More power to them, but in the same way I enjoy knowing every student in my school, I want to know every member who joins the site.

Now, THE MAIN DIFFERENCE is the focus on starting a school and running a small school that actually generates a nice income for you. That's all I'm going to focus on, and it's all we'll deal with in the articles, webinars, and lessons on the site.

I'm an expert in that area... I don't know a darn thing about running a 10,000 sq. ft. studio with 900 students, and I don't want to know how to do it. But, I can teach anyone how to start and run a small, very profitable martial arts studio.

And, I can boot-strap a business with the best of them. If you're short on cash but long on a willingness to learn and take action, I'm your Huckleberry. After having built two successful schools from little more than pocket lint and a vision, I can honestly say I know a bit about how to start and run a school from scratch.

ANOTHER MORE OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE IS THE PRICE. I purposely kept the price down below $20 a month, because I wanted it to be something that anyone could afford to be a part of.

Now, please don't think this is one of those, "You get what you pay for" memberships. One of the guiding principles in my business is to always deliver 10 times the value for the price, for every product or service I offer. So, I am actively working to make sure that you guys are getting ten times the value for the money. You WILL get your money's worth as a member.

But, I still know there will be some folks crying that $17.95 a month is too much to spend. Those are the same people who will go out and spend hundreds of dollars on the latest gear but won't invest a few measly bucks into their own financial future. Like I've said before, they deserve to fail.

Q: "Should I drop my membership in another program to join this one?"

A: This is going to surprise you, but I'm going to say "No". Why? Because, for one thing, another $17 a month is not going to break you. Heck, basic cable costs more per month than being a member of my site.

Don't shortchange yourself with a poverty mindset and start thinking, "I can't afford both." Instead, use the information you'll get from the site to generate more income so money isn't an issue.

Q: "Don't you belong to one of those big associations? Are you just recycling their information?"

A: I don't get their packages. Occasionally I might take a look at their magazines to see what they're putting out. But honestly, I never really got much out of using their services, and I prefer to use my own systems rather than gamble with someone else's.

Q: "Is there a free trial?"

A: I don't work for free, and neither should you. Let's be honest... $17 is not a lot to risk. Just one of the webinars, video or audio lessons is worth that. I routinely spend $500 or more a month on my own business education (and that's why I know all the stuff most school owners don't).

Let me just throw this out there... if you're really that broke, it may be an indication that you should consider becoming a member. So, skip a few lattes, Jamba Juices, or six-packs this month and spend a measly $17 on your own success.

I'm not trying to bust on anyone who is hurting for money, because I've been there. I lived on $6 - $7 an hour for years before I opened my first successful school. I know what it is to not have enough to buy gas to get you to work and still have money left for dinner.

But, I also know that if you want to change your situation, you are going to have to invest in learning how to be successful. If I had never started spending time and money on my education, I would still be making $7 an hour.

Q: "Why are you doing this?"

A: Obviously, to make money. I'm not hiding that from anyone. I've owned this site for years, and lately I've felt I was giving away some of my best material, only to have it stolen by other people who claimed it as their own. So, I figured if people were going to steal my ideas, I may as well make them pay for it. :)

But, beyond the financial incentive, I also want to create a tight-knit community of like-minded instructors who want to take a different approach to the business of teaching martial arts.

I have grown tired of being around people who have an approach to running their schools that is more like running a factory than a dojo. And, I'm tired of seeing honest, decent, hard-working instructors FAIL because THEY LACK A LITTLE BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE.

The material I am sharing on this site will change that, for those who are willing to learn and take action. If you think like I do and you want to take this journey with me, I welcome you to join me by becoming a member.
