Frequently Asked Questions

Thanks again - had loads of ideas already since signing up."

Roger Hunt
United Defense Unlimited

Q: "What does the membership include?"

A: Let's see...

  • Unlimited online business coaching worth at least $500 a month (figure that one coaching session with me costs $125, and email coaching costs $25 per... but you can use our coaching forums to get unlimited coaching - use them just once a week and you're easily getting $500 a month worth of coaching just by using this one feature of the membership)...
  • Monthly "done-for-you" marketing plans - each monthly plan includes at least 10 different low-to-no-cost marketing ideas that you can easily implement each month. You will never have to wonder about what to do to bring in new students to your school, ever again!
  • Exclusive content and articles, with new stuff updated and added each month...
  • Member's only webinars, where I'll deal with exactly the topics our members have requested that I cover. Anything I am not an expert on, I bring in an expert to discuss it....
  • Thousands of dollars worth of downloads, including ads and marketing materials (new stuff added quarterly monthly), documents and forms (new stuff is being added all the time), drills and games, and more...
  • Audio and video lessons, that you can go online and watch anytime you like...
  • Special "first-look" access to money-making programs for your school...
  • And a set of Ginsu knives (just kidding).

Now, it's only fair to tell you, I work on adding fresh new content to the member's area during at least one week out of each month.

So, if you get in there and don't see new material for the month, be patient... new updates come out around the 15th of each month.

Q: "What's it cost?"

A: $97 a month... but it's easily worth ten times that. Read about our member benefits and check out our testimonials, and I'm certain you'll find it's worth many times that to our members.

Q: "Is there a contract?"

A: Nope.

Q: "Can I get a refund if I decide I don't want it?"

A: Because of the nature of the membership product I typically don't provide refunds on the membership.

However, I do let you cancel at any time.

So in answer to your question, if you aren't happy with what you receive just use the contact form on this site to email us saying you want to cancel and you won't be billed again.

Oh - one more thing... unlike other membership sites, this is not just a bunch of PDFs on a single page for download (that's pretty lame, in my opinion). This site includes hundreds of articles, forum posts, resource documents, a few downloadable PDFs (reference material), etc.

But, the main value of the membership is the coaching you recieve as a member.

Q: "Can you answer this question I have about...?"

A: A short time ago I was forced to stop giving away my time for free, even for past clients. I was spending more time answering questions and helping people for free than I was with my paying clients, and obviously that had to stop.

So, you can get your question answered one of three ways:

  • Via Email Coaching - Get your questions answered by private email coaching client for $25 per inquiry... Click here to purchase
  • In One-on-One Phone Coaching Sessions - Get the answers you need to build a successful school faster by becoming a one-on-one phone coaching client for $125 per session... Click here to purchase
  • Become a Member - Get your questions answered on the member forums by joining now...

As you can see, site membership is the best value, but if you want to pay more to get your questions answered, that's your call.

Q: "Mike, isn't this just another "me too" membership program for school owners?"

A: Nope. It's more like a "not me" membership program.

To my knowledge, I was the first guy among this generation of instructors to stand up and say, "Hey, you don't need to have a big school, you don't need 300+ students, and you don't need a billing company sticking their hands in your pockets."

The core of what I teach goes directly against the mainstream. If that's "me too", then someone wake me up, because I must have been dreaming for the last six years.

Q: "Mike, who is this program geared toward?"

A: The instructor who wants to make a good living and still have a life outside their dojo. If that describes you, then this is the right program for you.

I'd like to add that this site is all about servicing an under-served group of people in our industry - small and struggling school owners. The focus of this membership is on instructors who are just starting schools, as well as small school owners. Period.

That's ALWAYS been my focus, and it's the only one I'm interested in dealing with.

Q: "How is this different from joining one of those big associations?"

A: The difference is simple... Maybe you've noticed and maybe you haven't, but most of the programs out there have some sort of additional agenda. Their goal is to get as many school owners drinking their Kool-Aid as possible, so they can sell you their "main" products... be it martial arts franchises, martial arts equipment, high-dollar consulting packages, or whatever they're really wanting to sell you.

Fine. That's their business, and more power to them. My goal, however, is to build a tight-knit community of instructors who are interested in learning how to run small, highly successful schools, and who are all about sharing ideas and supporting each other... Which is why I'm capping the membership once we hit a certain number of members.

Now, THE MAIN DIFFERENCE is the focus on starting a school and running a small school that actually generates a nice income for you. That's all I'm going to focus on, and it's all we'll deal with in the articles, webinars, and lessons on the site.

I'm an expert in that area... I don't know a darn thing about running a 10,000 sq. ft. studio with 900 students, and I don't want to know how to do it. But, I can teach anyone how to start and run a small, very profitable martial arts studio.

And, I can boot-strap a business with the best of them. If you're short on cash but long on a willingness to learn and take action, I'm your Huckleberry. After having built two successful schools from little more than pocket lint and a vision, I can honestly say I know more about how to start and run a school from scratch than anyone I have met in this industry.

Q: "Should I drop my membership in another program to join this one?"

A: This is going to surprise you, but I'm going to say "No". Why? Because, for one thing, $97 a month is not going to break you. Heck, basic cable costs more per month than being a member of my site.

Don't short-change yourself with a poverty mindset and start thinking, "I can't afford both." Instead, use the information you'll get from the site to generate more income so money isn't an issue.

Q: "Don't you belong to one of those big associations? Are you just recycling their information?"

A: I don't get their packages. Occasionally I might take a look at their magazines to see what they're putting out. But honestly, I never really got much out of using their services, and I prefer to use my own systems rather than gamble with someone else's.

Q: "Is there a free trial?"

A: I don't work for free, and neither should you. Let's be honest... $97 is not a lot of money. Just one of the webinars, video or audio lessons is worth that. I routinely spend $500 or more a month on my own business education (and that's why I know all the stuff most school owners don't).

Let me just throw this out there... if you're really that broke, it may be an indication that you should consider becoming a member. So, skip a few lattes, smoothies, or six-packs this month and invest a measly $100 bucks on your own success.

Q: "Why are you doing this?"

A: Beyond the obvious financial incentives, I also want to create a tight-knit community of like-minded instructors who want to take a different approach to the business of teaching martial arts.

I'm sick of seeing this industry turn out schools that are more factory than dojo. And, I'm tired of seeing honest, decent, hard-working instructors FAIL because THEY LACK BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE.

The material I am sharing on this site will change that, for those who are willing to learn and take action. If that describes you, then I welcome you to join today.
